Wild Goose Chase 2010

Following on from the success of Wild Goose Chase 2008 and 2009, get set for Wild Goose Chase 2010 running throughout March.

Once again Dumfries and Galloway Council  are teaming up with NTS Threave at Kelton Mains, RSPB Mersehead and WWT Caerlaverock, to bring you fabulous opportunities to view the thousands of geese that overwinter in the area.

By travelling from Caerlaverock in the east, via Mersehead, Kelton Mains and Loch Ken, and the Wigtown Bay Local Nature Reserve, to Loch Ryan in the west, you can see all six species of geese that spend the winter here: barnacle, Canada, brent, pink-footed, greylag and Greenland white-fronted, as well as two species of swan, mute and whooper.

There will be a series of guided walks and tours throughout the month in each location, as well as special events for families and children.

Find out about the Special Events taking place across the region.
