George Graham, Deputy Chief Constable George Graham joined Dumfries and Galloway Constabulary in December 1982 and during his service he has worked in a number of general and specialist areas of policing throughout the force. In January 2006 he was promoted to Deputy Chief Constable and is currently based within Police Headquarters, Cornwall Mount, Dumfries. Among his commitments, he represents Dumfries and Galloway Constabulary on the Association of Chief Police Officers Scotland (ACPOS) Information Management Business Area, Professional Standards Business Area and Operational Policing business area where he has specific portfolio responsibility for Police Surgeons, Health and Medical Services and Animal Welfare. On a local level he is also closely involved with a number of groups and partnership agencies and chairs the Domestic Abuse and Violence Against Woman Partnership. George is also the manager of Dumfries and Galloway Constabulary Pipe Band and is married with one son. On being appointed the chair of Dumfries and Galloway Child Protection Committee he commented “I am looking forward to working with colleagues in rising to the many challenges faced by the Child Protection Committee, in support of those whose job it is to safeguard and protect children and young people in Dumfries and Galloway”. |
