D & G Community and Voluntary Sector

Voluntary and not-for-profit organisations deal with or deliver a wide range of community activities, facilities, issues, resources and services in Dumfries and Galloway. These range from essential frontline services to recreational facilities and the providers range from very small local groups to very large national organisations.

Voluntary and community organisations of all kinds are supported by Councils of Voluntary Service (CVSs) of which there are four in Dumfries and Galloway: Annandale & Eskdale, Nithsdale, Stewartry and Wigtown. The CVSs are jointly represented by the Dumfries and Galloway Federation of Councils for Voluntary Service (DGFCVS).
