Over one hundred years of collecting written records relating to Dumfries and Galloway has given our area a rich source of archival material on every aspect of life in this region, throughout the ages. The Local Studies Collection forms the largest source of Dumfries and Galloway material in the world.

If you want to have research done for you, perhaps because you are unable to visit Dumfries and Galloway, we will assess the nature of the research and agree a price with you before we start. A written report will be produced and photocopies of some materials can be provided. Requests can be accepted in person and by post at the Ewart Library, Catherine Street, Dumfries and by e-mail.

Charge: £21.00 plus VAT per hour (minimum fee £21.00 plus VAT)

Enquiries which result in a large volume of prints may incur additional costs.
